A lot of people ask me about the "green" qualities of knitknotes. It's something I care deeply about, so I took it into consideration from the very beginning. Every knitknote is printed with vegetable-based inks on 10% post-consumer recycled 100 lb cardstock. That might seem like a low percentage, but it isn't really; that's a pretty common across-the-board industry standard for high-quality, heavy cardstock. I tried to balance ecological responsibility with what my customers wanted!
My color-coordinated envelopes are made from paper with a minimum 30% post-consumer waste content and are produced by a mill that exercises responsible, sustainable forestry. The envelopes are also processed chlorine free (PCF).
It sounds like a lot of mumbo-jumbo, I know. But since knitknotes are essentially disposable, I want to be sure that if you choose to toss them (as fabulous as they are!), they aren't sitting around in a landfill a hundred years from now.
